The end of my EDU210 journey…

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

– Nelson Mandela, anti-apartheid revolutionary and politician.

Nelson Mandela perfected everything I would want to say regarding the power of education. Education is a means of learning, informing, friendship, collaborating, and so much more. The possibilities brought forth by the act of educating are endless.

A thirst for knowledge and a desire to teach are two things that I have held on my shoulders as far back as I can remember. From playing school with my Barbies as a child, to actually creating interactive lesson plans in my early twenties. I have always dreamed of being in front of a classroom, encouraging in my students that same thirst for knowledge I have always had.

Creating this Word Press ePortfolio has really made me want to continue posting my progress. I never really liked the idea of blogging or online portfolios, but now I love it! This semester has been full of ups and downs, positives and negatives, and most of all, incredible learning experiences. As finals approach me, I have realized that this has been an amazing journey and I wish nothing but for it to continue.

Bye for now & thank YOU for following along on my journey.

Welcome to my ePortfolio!

My name is Joanna Zerbinos and I am a 3rd year student in the Faculty of Education at the University of Alberta. I am majoring in Social Studies, minoring in English and hope to take a diploma program after I graduate in Biology.  This blog is a means for me to create an ePortfolio to showcase my personal growth as a pre-service teacher.  I have created this ePortfolio for my Educational Technology class at the UofA. Each module in the menu bar above represents an assignment for weeks 1 through 12. They  will take you through the various assignments, videos, and reflections I have completed throughout this term!
